The Estonian government proposes to stop operating the Koidula checkpoint on the border with Russia at night, in continuation of a similar decision at the checkpoint in Narva.
Finance Minister Mart Virklaev said that the government is thinking about closing the Koidula checkpoint at night.
Transport flows have decreased and we should not keep the border with Russia open at night. Secondly, of course, there are certain savings here,” the minister explained.
The Minister of Internal Affairs has not yet publicly voiced his position on this issue.
