Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski urged not to assume that Donald Trump, in the event of a potential victory in the US presidential election, will leave Ukraine without support and will play into the hands of the Kremlin.

He said this in an interview with Politico partner publisher Axel Springer.

Sikorsky commented on concerns in the public debate that Trump, if he wins the upcoming US presidential election, will begin to play into the hands of the Kremlin.

Sikorsky noted that Trump’s position towards Ukraine “is not as black and white as some people think.”

Donald Trump was right in calling on Europe to quickly start spending more on defense, noted the Polish Foreign Minister.

He also recalled that it was during Trump’s presidency that Ukraine first received Javelin anti-tank systems.

Sikorsky also pointed out that Trump agreed to the format of the project on further support for Ukraine, which was then finally approved by the House of Representatives.

So I hope that candidate Trump saw that opposition to aid to Ukraine is not popular in the United States and that it harms his chances,” said Radoslaw Sikorski.
