The Verkhovna Rada announced the agenda of meetings with the delegation of the Polish Senate, which arrived in Kyiv on May 24.
Press Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said he thanked Poland for the assistance it provided to Ukraine and listed Ukraine's current priorities in military assistance, such as additional air defense and electronic warfare systems, armored vehicles, drones and anti-drone systems, and missiles long range.
“We are grateful to Poland for joining the Czech initiative to finance the purchase of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, as well as for the recent decision of the Polish parliament to extend temporary protection for Ukrainian citizens,” Stefanchuk said.
Denis Shmygal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, said their conversation covered several sectors: military support, European and Euro-Atlantic integration, sanctions against Russia, confiscation of Russian assets and border infrastructure development.
“The energy situation was discussed separately. We count on Poland's help in supplying the necessary equipment, mainly generators, modular boiler houses and gas turbines. We intend to decentralize the Ukrainian energy system to make it less vulnerable to adversaries. “- said Shmygal.
He added that he thanked the Polish government for supplying Ukraine with ammunition for air defense systems, without specifying which batch we were talking about.
“We highly appreciate the incredible level of support for our state from Poland and the Polish people,” Shmyhal added.
