The Zhalyn coal deposit is located in the Zhanaarkinsky district of the Karaganda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 350 kilometers from the city of Karaganda.
The Zhalyn deposit within the design quarry has been prepared for industrial development. The field has been in operation since 2009.
The contract for coal mining at the Zhalyn deposit is owned by Saryarka-ENERGY LLP.
The coal mining contract dated December 9, 2008 was concluded with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 25 years.
The total area of the Zhalyn deposit is 4.015 square meters. km, mining is carried out using open-pit mining.
Coal reserves of the deposit:
- balance – 55.2 million tons;
- industrial – 49.1 million tons.
In the period 2015-2019, the planned volume of coal production is 1 million tons per year. From 2020, it is planned to increase the volume of coal production to 2 million tons per year.
Development systems
Based on the mining and geological conditions of the coal seam, its mining is provided for:
- open pit mining using a transport development system using hydraulic excavators with a bucket capacity of 4 – 15 m3 with loading into dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 42-45 tons, 130 tons.
The Saryarka-ENERGY LLP company owns a railway dead end and an access road connected to the nearest railway station, and is the sole owner of the railway line from the nearest station to the coal loading site (LOADING AND UNCHARGING COMPLEX).
The length of the railway track is 13,441 km.
The distance from the PRK to the Zhalyn field is 30.1 km.
The total area of own land plots under the railway track is 10.6339 hectares.
A grader road is connected to the deposit, which connects to roads of national importance. Communication between individual settlements is carried out along dirt roads.
