French President Emmanuel Macron will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky on June 6 at the Elysee Palace. The Ukrainian leader will arrive to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, also known as D-Day.
“Against the backdrop of intensifying Russian attacks in the combat zone and on energy infrastructure, both presidents will discuss the situation on the fronts and the needs of Ukraine,” the administration said.
These discussions will be “a continuation of the Conference in support of Ukraine, held on the Champs-Elysees on February 26,” during which Macron first raised the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine.
Macron announced Zelensky's visit last week, but the Ukrainian side has not yet confirmed it.
