Border guards have still not received confirmation from the Polish side that farmers have begun blocking traffic.

On the morning of June 9, the Shegini-Medika checkpoint on the border with Poland was operating as usual, although Polish farmers were going to block it. This was announced on Sunday by the representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine (GNSU) Andrey Demchenko in a commentary to Ukrainskaya Pravda.

“The direction of the Shegini-Medika checkpoints is operating as usual. As of now, all categories of vehicles cross the border in both directions without hindrance. We have not yet received confirmation from the Polish side that Polish farmers have begun blocking traffic,” he said.

Demchenko did not rule out that the blocking of traffic for vehicles will not take place today.

“Of course, I would like such actions not to occur at all, but it cannot be ruled out that they are being postponed in this direction, given that they were announced,” he added.

The day before it became known that Polish farmers could block the Shegini-Mediko checkpoint until the end of September.

Let us remind you that on June 7, the Poles stopped the protest in front of the Grebenne-Rawa-Ruska checkpoint, which had been blocked since June 4. They demanded to reduce the import of grain crops into Poland from Ukraine.
