A passenger train has been derailed by a landslide caused by heavy rain in southern Germany. No one was hurt.

In Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg, two carriages of an intercity train derailed late on Saturday evening due to a landslide caused by heavy rainfall. There were 185 passengers on board at the time of the incident, none of whom were injured.

A spokesman for the country's national rail operator said passengers had been evacuated from the train, which was rerouted between the cities of Ulm and Stuttgart due to flooding.

The first two carriages of the train derailed but did not overturn, a railway spokesman said. A car was also damaged, but the driver was unharmed.
