Border guards have not yet received confirmation from the Polish side about the start of blocking traffic by farmers.

As of the morning of June 9, the Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint on the border with Poland is operating normally, although Polish farmers were planning to block it. This was reported on Sunday by Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine (SBSU), in a commentary to Ukrayinska Pravda.

"The Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint direction is operating normally. As of now, all categories of vehicles are crossing the border in both directions without hindrance. We have not yet received confirmation from the Polish side about the beginning of blocking traffic by Polish farmers," he said.

Demchenko did not rule out that the blocking of traffic for vehicles will not take place today.

“Of course, we would like such actions not to happen at all, but it cannot be ruled out that they are being postponed in this direction, given that they were announced,” he added.

The day before it became known that Polish farmers may block the Shehyni-Mediko checkpoint until the end of September.

Let us recall that on June 7, the Poles stopped their protest action in front of the Grebenne-Rawa-Ruska checkpoint, which had been blocked since June 4. They demanded a reduction in the import of grain crops into Poland from Ukraine.
