Game of Thrones Iron Throne Sold at Auction for $1.49 Million

At a themed auction in Dallas, the legendary Iron Throne from Game of Thrones became the most expensive lot, selling for $1.49 million.

An auction dedicated to the popular TV series Game of Thrones was held in Dallas, USA, Associated Press reports .

The most expensive lot was the Iron Throne, a replica of which went under the hammer for $1.49 million after six minutes of bidding. The throne, made of plastic and covered in metallic paint, was an exact copy of the original from the series, as it was cast from the original mold.

In total, 900 lots were put up for auction, including weapons, costumes and sets, and $21 million was raised. Jon Snow's sword sold for $400,000, and Jamie Lannister's royal guard suit for $212,000. Daenerys Targaryen's gray suede suit sold for $112,500, which exceeded the starting price by exactly $100,000.
