US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland has promised “hundreds and hundreds and hundreds” of sanctions against Russia in the new US package.

This was reported by the German publication Deutsche Welle.

According to Nuland, Washington will introduce new sanctions against Russia by the second anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine.

The US Deputy Secretary of State added that a number of measures will be directed against those responsible for the death of Alexei Navalny, but most of them will hit “Putin’s war machine” and close gaps in existing sanctions.

Earlier, the White House said that Washington plans on Friday, February 23, to unveil a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation in connection with the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
