The US presidential elections are scheduled for November 5, 2024. The election will pit incumbent President Joe Biden against former President Donald Trump.
US presidential candidate Donald Trump may choose North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as his vice president. Axios writes about this on Sunday, April 28.
As the portal points out, Burgum is quickly moving up the list of possible Trump vice presidents.
“The presidential candidate’s team believes that Burgum can help gain the support of so-called moderate voters,” the portal writes.
Trump began to frequently mention Burgum in discussions with his fans, and also invited him and his wife to Easter brunch at the Mar-a-Lago residence.
Trump likes Burgum's measured demeanor and gubernatorial experience, Axios sources tell him. In addition, the presidential candidate considers Burgum reliable.
“Burgum is similar to Mike Pence, who was vice president during the Trump presidency from 2017 to 2021. Additionally, Burgum has openly supported Trump on many issues, including abortion rights. Burgum also “quietly” campaigns for Trump, in particular, speaking on conservative and mainstream television channels,” Axios points out.
Former US President Donald Trump, speaking to supporters in Ohio, said that if he does not win the presidential election in November, it will mean the likely end of American democracy.
